Course Title: Bachelor of Law (Honours) (LLB)

The part-time LLB is open only to students with a 2:2 or higher in TU112 Bachelor of Arts in Law (LLB).

The LLB is a 60 ECT Level 8 add on to the TU112 Bachelor of Arts in Law (LLB). It offers students an advanced, critically informed perspective on key elements of Irish and International legal systems. This course, in combination with TU112 is recognised by King's Inns as a qualifying law degree for the purpose of admission to the Barrister at Law degree.

The LLB is an internationally recognised legal qualification which can be used as a gateway to the legal and allied professions. Many graduates of the programme have gone on to qualify as Solicitors and Barristers both in Ireland and in the UK. Others have used the qualification as a foundation to postgraduate study or to further their careers in civil and public service and in the private sector.

Students can take between one and six modules or subjects per academic year. A total of 6 modules or 60 credits is required to complete the programme.

Students take six modules of their choice from those offered. These may be taken over one or two years with a minimum of three modules . Classes are held four evenings per week and depending upon subject choice students also attend tutorials on four Saturday's per academic year.

Please contact law@tudublin.ie for a sample schedule for 2024/25. Students are assessed through a mix of continuing assessments and examinations. Examinations are held once per year in May.

Students who successfully complete the LLB can apply to progress onto the Masters in Criminology, the Masters in Child, Family & Community Studies, the MA in Law or pursue an MPhil in Law.
