In the alternative, applicants should have two years’ experience in a workplace in which law features prominently (legal secretary/paralegal/executive, civil and public service, the legal department of a bank or insurance company, a member of An Garda Síochána or social worker). Applicants with other experience will be considered on a case by case basis and an interview may be required for all applicants.

The Bachelor of Arts, is a Level 7 degree in Law. Students take nine modules over three years, including all 8 subjects examined by the Law Society in their entrance examination. Our lecturers are highly skilled professionals, many of whom have significant experience as legal practitioners. Students learn how to find, interpret and apply legal materials, and to identify the legal rules relevant to individuals, state institutions and bodies corporate in a variety of personal, regulatory and commercial situations.

Learning Outcome

Students will gain the ability to recognise and apply legal principles in a variety of factual contexts.
