Academic Hub & Library

Status: Construction

Adjacent to the recently completed Central Quad in Grangegorman, TU Dublin's new Academic Hub & Library is currently under construction by OHL-Townlink Joint Venture Ltd. The building was designed by award-winning architects, O'Donnell + Tuomey. It  comprises a new, modern building which wraps to the North and the South of the North House - an historical building dating from the 19th century - to create a stunning new Library facility. Some 12,000m2 of new learning space will be delivered with the building featuring a roof garden with spectacular views of the city. The project is on target for completion in 2024.

West Quad

Status: Design Complete

The West Quad will be home to the College of Business, currently located in Aungier Street. The building, at approximately 20,000m2, will offer a range of technology-enabled learning environments, including turn and learn lecture theatres, flexible classrooms, collaborative and informal workspaces, and dedicated/specialised laboratories in Business Innovation (Data Analytics and Supply Chain), Retail, Immersive Technologies & Advertising and Financial Laboratory & Trading Rooms. The West Quad will also feature the University’s Conferring Hall.West Quad

 

FOCAS

Status: Design Stage

The FOCAS Research Institute is currently located on Camden Row in Dublin 8. A new home for the Institute has now been designed on the Grangegorman Campus beside TU Dublin's other research building - the Greenway Hub. Together, these Institutes will form the University's Research Hub, offering our postgraduate students and researchers state-of-the-art laboratory and office space.

Indoor Sports (Phase 1 - Dry Sports) 

Status: The project is at preliminary design stage and is on target to enter the detailed design stage in early 2023. 

Located at the City Campus in Grangegorman, this project is the first phase of a two-phase project that will provide a c. 15,500m2 complex comprising wet and dry sports. Phase 1 will provide over 6,500m2 of space to incorporate Sports Hall, Fitness Suite, Squash Court, Climbing Wall, Changing Rooms, Assessment and Treatment Rooms, Equipment Storage and all other associated support areas. This 4-storey building will provide much needed sports facilities, not just for the students/staff of the University but also to the local community. 

Design and Construct Centre - Broombridge

Status: The project is at preliminary design stage and is on target to enter the detailed design stage in early 2023. 

The Design & Construct Centre at the Broombridge campus is being developed as a centre of national and international significance to serve the Architecture, Engineering and Construction sector. Through multidisciplinary collaboration and industry engagement, the centre will accommodate applied and practical innovation, education and research at all levels. The centre will play pivotal role in delivering on Project Ireland 2040 and the government’s key priority areas of apprenticeship, digitalisation, productivity and innovation, climate and gender action. The development of Broombridge Campus is Phase 1 of the integrated plan for the migration of Engineering & Built Environment activities from the Bolton Street campus to Grangegorman and other locations. The Design and Construct project will provide a further 8,700m2 of teaching, learning and recreational space for TU Dublin’s students and staff.
