Our campus at Grangegorman, which is the largest investment in Higher Education in Ireland, brings together many of our activities in one vibrant, cutting-edge campus, providing our students with an incomparable educational experience. Together with our campuses in Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Blanchardstown, and Tallaght, Grangegorman provides a welcoming working environment where our students and staff can explore their abilities and reach their full potential.
The current development phase at Grangegorman saw the East Quad open in late 2020 - you can see a video of the building here while the Central Quad began welcoming students in April 2021. The buildings are now fully operational and accommodate 10,000 students. Further to this, three existing buildings have been significantly upgraded and refurbished to offer a range of facilities and services to both students and staff - Lower House, Rathdown House, and Park House.
Grangegorman has beautifully restored a historic part of Dublin City. In keeping with our conservation efforts, TU Dublin is committed to promoting sustainable modes of transport. Campus Tour
The Central-Quad-2022 is the largest building on the new campus. Highly specialised laboratories and learning centres provide a world-class education environment, attracting the best and brightest students to the University and positioning researchers at the forefront of scientific discovery. The building's design emphasises openness and accessibility, putting learning 'on show' and allowing students and visitors to observe activities in laboratories and training areas.
The building is now home to a range of disciplines that were previously located on Cathal Brugha Street and Kevin Street, including Computer Science; Mathematics and Statistics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Sciences; Biological, Health and Sports Sciences, Food Science and Environmental Health, Physics, Clinical & Optometric Sciences, Culinary Arts and Food Technology, and Hospitality Management and Tourism.

The East Quad is a Cultural Hub not only for the campus but also for the city. Opened in late 2020, students can access the East Quad directly via the Broadstone Gate – a new public plaza, which incorporates the Broadstone/University Luas stop on the Green Line. In addition, a range of Arts and Humanities courses are delivered in the East Quad in Art & Design, Media, Music, Drama, Dance, Languages, Law, Social Science, Education and Social Care.
The fluid nature of the design and the vibrancy of the learning environment facilitates exhibitions of students’ visual artwork as well as dramatic and musical performances in the 340-seat Concert Hall, 80-seat Black Box Theatre and 80-seat Recital Hall, all of which will be accessible to general audiences once public health restrictions are relaxed. In addition, the design of the external spaces and landscaping outside the building will also be conducive to various uses such as performance, media projection and exhibition of sculpture.

The Greenway Hub is a state-of-the-art facility for research and innovation. Located on a raised site, the building overlooks the landscaped campus grounds, including the tree-lined Green Way Avenue, and offers beautiful views right across Dublin City. It is home to the Environmental, Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI) and to TU Dublin Hothouse.
The first new building on the Grangegorman campus, the Greenway Hub, is purposely located in the centre of campus so that innovation and research are at the heart of academic and student activity. While the laboratory and incubation spaces are specific to their purposes, the building also includes seminar rooms and meeting rooms which can be available to students and staff based on the campus.
In 2017, the University began an ambitious project to bring the oldest building on the campus back into use. The Lower House is an important part of the new University campus, offering a range of services for students. There is a large dining area, while the building also provides Student Union facilities along with a dance studio and indoor sports areas. There are also 18 music rooms for TU Dublin Conservatoire complementing facilities in the East Quad. The Lower House is linked to the East Quad via a walkway with meadows of wildflowers on either side.

TU Dublin Sport offers a range of fitness classes and small group training in Mills Bodypump, Les Mills GRIT, HIIT, Pilates, Kettlebells, Met-Con, and so much more. A state-of-the-art indoor cycling studio also features the new Keiser M3i model. With this bike, you can transmit your workout data to your phone, smartwatch, or tablet to maximise your workout.
Societies
The Lower House is home to a range of Societies and Dance, Theatre and Music activities, which will take place in the Common Room on the first floor. There is also an event space on the second floor that will host Social Occasions, Masterclasses, Film Screenings, Gaming Tournaments, Performances, Exhibitions and Volunteering events.
Students' Union
TU Dublin Students' Union is also based in the Lower House, occupying the TU Dublin Students' Union Common Rooms on the ground and first floors. Here the SU will host Workshops, Panel Discussions, Cultural Celebrations, Tournaments, Comedy Nights, Film Screenings, Award Ceremonies, Class Meetings and much more!
TU Dublin Conservatoire
The Lower House also contains 18 music practice rooms complementing the Conservatoire's extensive facilities in the East Quad.
Rathdown House, in addition to housing a large 250-seater canteen, is a one-stop-shop for student queries including Admissions, Registrations, Exams, International Office, Access & Civic Engagement, along with a new Student Wellness Centre which includes a Health Centre and Counselling Services.
Park House is the home to our temporary library, which will serve the campus until the completion of the Academic Hub in 2023. The building itself has seven floors plus a basement, and three of those floors are now dedicated to the library, along with a portion of the basement for storage.
Park House is also the temporary home to our Academic Writing Centre, Careers Development Centre, Disability Support Centre, and the Maths Learning Centre.
The next phase of development at Grangegorman will see another three brand new academic buildings constructed by 2023 and will bring the student population of the campus to 15,000. Read more about this stage of the campus development here.
