This module addresses the fundamentals of workplace hazards and risk within an occupational setting. The module focuses on safety issues commonly found and addressed within different work environments. The module will focus on how workplace accidents and ill-health can be prevented by implementation of suitable preventive and protective controls with the aim being to understand why health and safety at work must be managed along with the consequences of poor health and safety standards. The module is underpinned by the health and safety legislation along with safety standards and codes of practice.
