The ‘Building Technology: Contemporary Building Elements’ module develops and broadens the learner ‘s understanding of the theories, principles and application of building materials, technology and construction introduced in the Technical Design Studio: Masonry Construction module.
It provides the learner with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the building technologies and construction methods required for the development of a technical design for a contemporary two-storey domestic dwelling with single storey appendage, with an emphasis on low energy performance.
