This course builds upon the earlier study of Structural Analysis and Design, and in particular on the module Structural Design 1
This module covers:
- The design of steelwork connections and truss members
- Plastic Design of statically indeterminate beams and rectangular portal frames
The design of more complex reinforced concrete elements including continuous beams, columns and retaining walls
*Curricular information is subject to change
- Steel Design
- Steelwork connections: Ordinary bolts, friction grip bolts, welding, spliced connections, moment -resisting connections, beam to column connections, beam to beam connections, column baseplates
