This module aims to introduce the student to the concepts of sport and exercise biochemistry. The module combines information from nutrition, physiology, and biochemistry to provide a clear explanation of the working of metabolism and the human body’s response to physical activity and exercise. The module presents the essentials of biochemistry—molecular biology, basic chemistry, metabolism, and the impact of exercise—in an easy-to-understand format. The student will apply this knowledge in the context sport, exercise and health.
