The module provides the student with the ability to carry out a major project (planned in Semester 7) with minimal supervision, adapting the strategy as the project unfolds;the capacity to relate results and observations to the theory and practical components of other modules of the course, and prior learning; troubleshooting experimental problemsthe necessary skills to report in detail on the project, in writing and orally; an appreciation of the skills involved in research at higher levels (postgraduate and industrial research), project management skills.
