Practice Placement 2

To enable student to develop personally as a reflective practitioner by applying the theories and concepts learned in the classroom to the Social Care work environment. To create a safe learning environment before, during and after placement for the student to examine his/her strengths and weaknesses, to assess how his/her values, beliefs, and practices may impact upon clients.As social care practicum is an ongoing and dynamic subject the syllabus content will be expanded or modified, as the case may be, to reflect developments in social care knowledge and practice set out in this module.Students must pass both components and have the required 75% attendance of Professional Practice 2 to enable attendance in this module

Development of Knowledge and Skills

The Placement affords the student the opportunity to “test out “their knowledge and skills within the safety of a well-structured and supervised work setting with the direction of an experienced, competent professional. Students are expected to be supernumerary to the staff complement of the wok centre.
