This module introduces students to contact lenses, providing them with the basic science underpinning contact lenses. An understanding of the basic principles of patient assessment for contact lens wear and their application will be acquired. Further development of the theoretical and clinical application will be developed in contact lens practice two. These skills will assist the student in advising patients in the Primary Care Clinic 1 regarding contact lenses.
