This module will advance students understanding of single camera narrative production methods. Students will work as part of a team to script and produce short narrative projects. Delivered through weekly lectures and on-location filming, the module is designed to build on students skills from first year, and make them into capable film makers, both individually and in teams.
Intermediate cinematography and lighting for drama production. Scriptwriting for film. Sound recording techniques and grip equipment for drama production. Film editing using Adobe Creative Suite. Film production paperwork including call sheets, scheduling, artist release forms and relevant report sheets, (Sound – camera, Etc). Introduction to working with actors and directing crew.
Foundation cinematography
Advancing from basic to intermediate use of cinema cameras and support equipment such as tripods, gimbal and dolly.
Audio for film
The use of boom mics, wireless kits, and, a wide range of audio equipment.
Intermediate editing
Students must edit a short form piece of content that demonstrates ability in post production.
Production paperwork
Learning the importance of paperwork and documentation from release forms to call sheets.
Lecture based demonstrations with content creation and hands on practice. Students learn by writing and producing short films.
