Vectors
Revision of Vector Algebra. Gradient, Divergence and Curl. Conservative Fields.
Fourier Series
Graphs of Trigonometric Functions. Amplitude, Frequency, Period and Phase. Periodic Waveforms and Waveform Symmetry. Fourier series (without derivation). Harmonic Analysis.
Differential Equations
Second Order Ordinary Differential Equations. Applications to problems in physics.
Numerical Methods
Simple Non-linear Equations. Newton-Gregory polynomial. Ordinary Differential Equations using Runge-Kutta methods.
Lectures, tutorials, laboratory activities, and demonstrations.
This module will be taught through lectures. A Practice Laboratory format will be employed for some parts of the module.
