Career Development and IT

This module introduces students to the concept of personal and professional development. Several strands are considered, including: Transition into higher education and the development of graduate attributes; personal development; reflection on learning. In addition, information technology workshops on using computers for professional purposes are covered. The module uses material from the core chemistry module CHEM1002 to contextualise the activities completed.

Scientific Presentation
Summaries on scientific topics, preparing and presenting posters / infographics and / or oral presentations / science demonstrations.

IT Lab Work
5 workshops on Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Chemical Drawing packages.

Students will learn through a series of IT workshops on a range of Microsoft Office software and chemical drawing packages, and through lectures, tutorials and in-class group work.
