The aim of this semester 3 module is to familiarise students with the main services in buildings and their relevance to the Estate Agent's profession.
Water System
Source of water, purification, hot and cold direct and indirect systems of water distribution within a house.
Central Heating Systems
Types, one pipe/two pipe systems, boilers output and efficiency, renewable technologies i.e. solar, wind and ground source.
Drainage Systems
Combined and separate systems, regulations, inspection chambers, septic tanks and percolation areas (registration regulations), above ground drainage.
Services
Electrical distribution systems, gas, telephone, cable.
Fireplaces
Elements and regulations.
Environment
Building energy rating, building regulations and efficiency requirements.
Health, Safety and Welfare
Implications of the safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and 2010
