Research Methods

The Research Methods module introduces the student to the nature of, and the different approaches to, contemporary research into, for and through architecture and the built environment at postgraduate level.  The module is structured to give participants an awareness of historical and contemporary research paradigms, methodologies, and methods. It discusses issues and concerns around the setting of research objectives, examines the evaluation and selection of appropriate methodologies and considers the ethical dimensions of research. The output of the module is a written analysis of an example of architectural research.
