Horizon 2020 BIMcert: Improving the next generation of vocational training

As part of European Vocational Skills Week, Technological University Dublin will provide free upskilling through the Horizon 2020-funded BIMcert Project in Digital Construction and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

An online webinar, taking place on Thursday, 12 November from 12-1 pm, will detail how users can access two free modules to learn key terms and definitions regarding BIM and how to use the cloud and mobile digital devices to access digital information.

The BIMcert platform offers training material to enable more efficient and greener design and construction through BIM processes. The BIMcert platform enables just-in-time training through a wide selection of training options to ensure all levels of employees have the fundamental capabilities to work in a digitally-focused environment, with sustainability in mind.

In alignment with best practice for vocational education and training (VET) and the exchange of information and good practice across Europe and beyond, Technological University Dublin and Northern Ireland partners Belfast Metropolitan College will host a webinar demonstrating how users can access the platform to enable rapid upskilling. The webinar will detail how users can access two free modules to learn key terms and definitions regarding BIM and how to use the cloud and mobile digital devices to access digital information.

VET providers and stakeholders are adapting to COVID-19 and are promoting an ambitious European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness, and resilience. This webinar will showcase how the BIMcert platform will complement this agenda through the provision of transferable digital transformation skills that can safeguard a sustainable future for Europe.
