TU Dublin is to co-ordinate FITTER-EU Project

Published: 1 Aug, 2023

The project “Fair and inclusive twin transitions for a stronger social Europe” (FITTER-EU) has been selected for €3m funding under the Horizon Europe programme. Over the next 3 years, this 10-partner consortium project, coordinated by TU Dublin, will contribute to existing research on the origins, dynamics and determinants of intersectional inequalities, to enable anticipatory governance to support a fair and inclusive twin transition in Europe. The project innovates by the formulation and development of an ecosystem that includes an interactive and gamified Digital Platform powered by an Intelligent Predictive Decision Support System. This will assist policymakers in predicting which social groups may be at risk of being adversely affected by twin transition policies under different scenarios and propose mitigation measures and better practice guides that can be used to curve potential negative effects of policies on identified at-risk groups.

FITTER-EU will be led by Dr. Sara Clavero, Deputy Director of the AIB Research Centre in Inclusive and Equitable Cultures (RINCE), who will work in close collaboration with Dr. Maria Chiara Leva, Senior Lecturer and PI at the Human Factors in Safety and Sustainability Research Group (HFISS) within the Environmental Sustainability and Health Institute (ESHI).
