How to Apply

All international applicants can now apply online directly to TU Dublin via the respective course page, which will outline the closing date and entry requirement for each programme.

  • Select your mode of study Undergraduate, Postgraduate
  • Select your desired programme of study.
  • Select "Non-EU" Button in How to Apply Section to begin the application.

Application Dates

The closing date for international undergraduate and postgraduate programmes is 30th June for programmes commencing September 2024.

The steps to make an application to study as an international student at TU Dublin are listed below:

  • STEP 3: Select "Non-EU" Button in How to Apply Section to begin the application.

English Language Requirements

Applicants from outside of Ireland will usually need to meet specific English language requirements to study at TU Dublin. English language requirements are available on our English language requirements page

Application Assessment

We assess each application very carefully and will contact you via our online application system when we’ve decided on your application. If your application is successful, we’ll make you an offer of a place. This offer will be either a:

  • Conditional Offer:  You will be able to study your chosen programme if you meet the programme entry requirement as per the course page and/or meet the English language requirements.
  • Unconditional Offer: You will be able to study without any further requirements or conditions.

Apply through the CAO if you fully meet one of the following criteria:

  1. You are currently living in Ireland and are sitting the Irish Leaving Certificate or studying for a QQI FET award, regardless of your Nationality/residency status.
  2. You hold EU Nationality / EU Passport
    AND 
    a) you are living in an EU country 3 of the last 5 years
    OR 
    b) you have attended at least 5 years primary / secondary education in an EU country.
  3. You hold Non-EU Nationality but you are living in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years
    OR
    you are under 23 living with your parents who are working and paying tax in Ireland for 3 of the last 5 years.

Apply through the International Office at How to Apply if you meet either of these criteria:

  1. You hold EU Nationality, but you have not lived in an EU country for 3 of the last 5 years
    AND
    you have not attended 5 years primary / secondary education in an EU country.
  2. You hold Non-EU Nationality and you live in a Non-EU country.

*Individual programmes may require additional documentation. Minimum entry requirements are listed on each individual programme page*

  • Applications will open the week commencing 6 November 2023. 
  • Applications not fully completed will automatically be rejected.
  • Conditional Offers will be issued by email ONLY.
  • Outstanding documents must be submitted as soon as they are received.
  • If you have applied using an Agent, please contact your Agent with any queries you may have regarding your application.
  • This office is closed at weekends as well as public and University holidays which may differ from your home country.
  • A minimum payment of 50% of tuition fee is required to guarantee your place.
  • Payment can take up to 5 working days for the money to reach our account.
  • Applicants should be prepared be in Dublin early in September as classes will begin 19th September.
  • It can take up to 12 weeks for your visa to be processed.
  • Applicants must be 18 before 31st December (September Start programmes) or 31st May (January Start programmes). If under 18 at the time of arrival, the student will need to stay in homestay accommodation until they are 18 years old and they will need to bring parental consent to give their fingerprints to INIS.
  • Non-EU applicants must have a current valid EU visa in order to be eligible for part time study.

If you think you may qualify as an EU applicant, please contact us at pginternational@tudublin.ie to be fee assessed before you make an application. Application fees are non-refundable.

To qualify for the EU Rate of Fees, you must meet ONE of the following criteria:

  1. You are ordinarily resident in the EU and have received full-time post primary education in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission OR
  2. You are ordinarily resident in the EU and have worked full-time in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission OR
  3. You hold a passport from an EU state and have received full-time education in the EU for 3 of the 5 years immediately preceding admission.

Note: The period that Non-EU students are resident in Ireland on Study Visas does not contribute towards the residency requirement in relation to fee assessment at TU Dublin.
