TU Dublin hosts Intel® Mini Scientist competition

Published: 9 Dec, 2019

TU Dublin was delighted to host the regional final of the Intel® Mini Scientist competition in Blanchardstown on Friday, 6 December.

The Intel® Mini Scientist Exhibition is a competition for 4th, 5th, and 6th class students and is aimed at fostering an interest in the sciences before they take on the Junior Cert curriculum in secondary school. Giving students the opportunity to work on science projects, the competition encourages them to see that science is all around us by investigating how, what and why things work the way they do.

Over 225 primary school children attended TU Dublin, Blanchardstown for the event, showcasing a broad and varied range of projects. The judges, many of whom are lecturing staff at TU Dublin, were hugely impressed with the ingenuity of the projects presented and the enthusiasm of the students on the day. Sixteen projects were selected as winners, and these will go on to compete at the grand final on January 29th.

Congratulations to all involved.
